We stock and install Mighty Mule-compatible mounting brackets, gate frame reinforcements, and weld-on hinge assemblies for most single and dual swing gate systems, with typical installed prices in Henderson running between $180 and $420 depending on the gate’s weight and the extent of the fabrication. Most calls start the same way: a gate that used to open smoothly now drags, sags, or has a mounting point that’s cracked through at the weld. You’ll usually notice the gate tilting slightly at the top corner, or a new creak when the opener cycles. We carry the common weld and fabrication parts on the truck, so a lot of Henderson jobs wrap up same-day. We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Mighty Mule, but their gates are a big part of what we see in this valley.
Which Mighty Mule Models This Applies To
Most of the welding and fabrication work we do involves the FM200, FM350, MM360, MM371W, MM562, and MM571W series openers, plus the older MM260 and RB741 pull-to-open models. The mounting style matters more than the model year. Mighty Mule switched bracket designs between their early round-tube opener arms and the newer square-profile arms, so the bolt spacing and bracket footprint don’t always interchange. If you still have the manual, the model number is on the first page. If you don’t, check the control board cover for a white sticker or look at the opener arm itself, older arms are round and about 2 inches in diameter, newer ones are square or rectangular.
On the OEM versus aftermarket question: Mighty Mule’s factory brackets are powder-coated steel and generally hold up fine, but we’ve welded enough of them back together to know the coating is what fails first in Henderson’s sun. Once the powder coat chips and moisture gets in, the steel rusts from the inside out. A quality aftermarket bracket made from 1/4-inch hot-rolled steel, welded and then zinc-primed, often outlasts the original on west-facing gates. We’ll tell you which way to go based on your gate’s weight, not on what we’d rather sell.

Signs Your Mighty Mule Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags toward the latch side. This is usually a failing weld at the hinge post or a bent hinge barrel. The opener keeps working harder to move the gate, which shortens its life. We see this a lot on Inspirada HOA gates with tall iron pickets that catch the afternoon wind.
- A crack runs through the opener mounting bracket. The arm pushes and pulls thousands of times a year, and a hairline crack at the bracket’s bend is the classic fatigue point. It starts quiet and gets louder as the crack spreads.
- The gate drifts open or closed after it stops. When the post bracket loosens or the weld shears, the gate loses its resting position. The opener’s limit switches can’t fully compensate.
- You hear a metallic popping sound when the gate reverses direction. That’s slop in the pin or a failed weld flexing under load. Ignoring it means the broken piece keeps hammering the parts around it.
- The gate frame itself is cracked at a weld joint. Heat, wind load, and the opener’s torque concentrate stress where the pickets meet the horizontal rails. A cracked weld there will fold the gate eventually, and that’s a much bigger fabrication job than a bracket swap.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Henderson, a standard weld-on hinge replacement for a single Mighty Mule swing gate runs $180 to $280 installed, including the new hinge, grinding out the old weld, and repainting the work area. A full opener bracket rebuild, where we fabricate and reinforce the mounting plate, lands between $260 and $420 depending on gate weight and whether we’re welding in place or pulling the gate to a bench. The higher end is for dual gates and heavy iron.
Every quote includes the part, labor, cleanup, and a written price before we strike the first arc. When we’re welding inside a yard with pavers, we lay drop cloths and shield nearby surfaces from spatter. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the fabrication, if our weld fails or the bracket doesn’t hold, we come back and make it right without a debate.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check the visible brackets for cracks, wiggle the gate to feel for slop, and look for rust trails below each weld. That’s useful information to have when you call. What you shouldn’t do is attempt the welding or load-bearing bracket replacement yourself. The gate under tension, even with the opener disengaged, can shift suddenly and crush fingers. A grinder with a cutoff wheel near a moving gate is a losing combination. I’ve got a saying that gates are the only thing in the house that moves while carrying three hundred pounds of steel, so respect that. If you’re in Henderson and want a straight answer, call us at (775) 210-7739 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll give you a firm estimate over the phone or come take a closer look.
FAQs
In Henderson’s dry heat, the welds themselves usually outlast the powder coating around them. We see factory brackets and hinge welds start failing around the 5 to 8 year mark on west and south-facing gates, because the finish breaks down first and rust works into the steel. Gates on north-facing walls or under shade often go 10 years or more before a weld-related problem shows up.
Sometimes. If the crack is in the weld itself and the surrounding steel is still solid, we can grind it out and re-weld with better penetration than the factory original. If the base metal is thinned from rust or the crack runs into the bracket, a repair is wasted effort and we’ll recommend replacement. Call (775) 210-7739 and we’ll give you an honest read.
Most single-gate bracket and hinge replacements in Henderson take 1 to 2 hours from setup to cleanup. A dual gate or a full frame reinforcement job can run 3 to 4 hours because we’re working both sides and waiting for welds to cool before re-hanging the gate. We’ll give you a realistic window when we quote the job.
We keep the common weld-on hinge barrels, bracket blanks, and steel stock for Mighty Mule FM and MM series gates on the truck, plus hardware for LiftMaster, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing openers. If your gate needs a weird offset bracket or a custom reinforcement plate, we fabricate it in the van or back at the shop, usually same day.
If your Mighty Mule gate is sagging, cracking, or just making a noise it didn’t make last week, call us at (775) 210-7739. We’ll give you a straight diagnosis and a written price before any work begins, and you’ll get a technician who treats your yard the way you’d treat your own. A gate that works quietly is one you stop thinking about, and that’s exactly the goal.
