Most BFT hinge and roller replacements in Henderson run between $140 and $320 installed, depending on whether it’s a single wheel-and-hinge assembly on a sliding gate or a full hinge set on a swing gate. We carry BFT-compatible hinges, guide rollers, and wheel assemblies on our trucks, and in many cases we can complete the swap the same day you call. The part usually announces itself before it fails completely: a gate that suddenly drags, squeals, or rides up over the track is telling you the roller has worn to the hub.
Which BFT Models This Applies To
BFT has used different roller and hinge designs across its sliding and swing gate lines, and the wrong part on a BFT Deimos or BFT Rigel series will wear out fast or bind. The most common Henderson applications we see are the BFT Deimos BT sliding gate operators paired with steel or aluminum cantilever gates, and the BFT swing gate series using adjustable steel hinges with greasable pins. The compatibility gotcha: BFT sliding gates use either a 68mm or 90mm guide roller wheel diameter, and ordering the wrong size means the wheel either floats in the track or jams against the side plate. We measure the wheel, the bracket spacing, and the gate weight before pulling a part, because BFT shipped both sizes across the same model years.
On the OEM versus aftermarket question: BFT-branded hinges and rollers are well made, but for most Henderson residential gates, a quality aftermarket roller with a sealed bearing and nylon sleeve lasts as long as OEM and costs about 30% less. We use aftermarket parts when they match or exceed the spec, and we’ll show you both options with the price difference in writing before we order anything. We are an independent gate repair provider, not a BFT dealer, which means we’re free to recommend the part that fits the gate, the desert climate, and your budget.

Signs Your BFT Hinge & Roller Replacement Is Failing
- The gate makes a grinding or squealing noise when it moves. That’s the roller bearing or hinge pin running dry or chewing through a worn bushing. If the sound only appears at one spot in the travel, the wheel is likely flat-spotted and every pass makes it worse.
- The gate sags at the latch end. On BFT swing gates, a dropped leaf usually means the hinge pin or the hinge body itself has worn oval. If you can see daylight under the gate at the post but not at the latch, the hinge set is the culprit.
- The gate drags on the ground or scraping at the far end of travel. On sliding gates, the guide rollers near the ground keep the gate level. When they wear the nylon outer ring down to the steel hub, the gate drops and starts shaving concrete on every cycle.
- The gate jerks or shudders partway through its travel. A roller wheel with a flat spot or a seized bearing makes the motor work harder and delivers that stutter as it rolls over its own wear point.
- You can wiggle the gate by hand more than half an inch at the hinge side. Any movement you can create by hand is multiplied tenfold when the operator cycles. That movement eventually ruins the other hinge and the operator gearbox.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Henderson, a single BFT guide roller replacement typically runs $140 to $220, including the part and on-site labor. A full hinge set on a BFT swing gate lands between $210 and $320, depending on gate weight, whether we need to lift and re-level the leaf, and whether the welded brackets on the post are in serviceable shape. The biggest price driver is gate weight: a 14-foot steel driveway gate needs a step up in hinge capacity and usually an extra set of hands to reposition.
Every price is written down before we start work. That number includes the new part, installation, alignment, and lubrication of the remaining moving points. It also includes cleanup: drop cloths on the driveway, shoe covers inside, and a photo of the finish before we leave. Every hinge and roller replacement is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If something isn’t right, we make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
What an owner can safely check: whether the gate sits level when closed, whether the wheels show flat spots or missing nylon, and whether the hinge pins show rust streaks or powder from the bushing. Those observations help us quote the job accurately over the phone.
Where we draw the line: removing a swing gate leaf involves a gate that can weigh 300 to 800 pounds, and when it comes off the hinges it wants to fall. We use a support stand and a second technician for any hinge replacement on gates over 10 feet. Sliding gate rollers under tension against the track carry similar weight, and if the gate shifts during the swap, the whole panel can bind or tip. We’d rather spend the time doing it safely once than clean up after an attempted fix that leaves the gate on the ground. Call the office at (775) 210-7739 if you’re seeing any of the symptoms above. We’ll give you a straight answer and a written price before we touch anything.
FAQs
In the Las Vegas Valley’s dry heat and dust, most BFT rollers and hinges last 5 to 8 years before the bearings or bushings show meaningful wear. Gates near dirt lots or construction areas tend to wear them out in 4 to 5 years thanks to fine grit getting into the bearing race. Lubrication at least twice a year extends that lifespan considerably.
No. By the time a BFT roller wheel is making noise or causing the gate to drag, the bearing or nylon ring is already galled, and there is no practical way to restore it. Replacing the wheel and bracket as a unit is the fix that holds. It’s also the cheaper fix in the long run, because a worn roller left in service damages the track and the operator.
A single slide gate roller swap takes about 45 to 75 minutes on site. A full hinge set on a swing gate typically takes 2 to 3 hours, including lifting, re-leveling, and testing the full travel. We’ll tell you the expected window when we quote the job.
Our trucks carry the common BFT-compatible sizes, including 68mm and 90mm guide roller wheels and adjustable hinge sets for standard residential swing gates. If your gate needs a non-standard size or an OEM-specific part, we order it and typically have it in hand within one to two business days. Call (775) 210-7739 and we’ll confirm what fits before scheduling.
