Elite access control installation in Henderson typically runs between $1,800 and $4,200 installed, depending on whether we’re adding a keypad, card reader, or full telephone-entry system to your existing gate operator. We stock Elite-compatible access control components on our trucks, and most replacements for a failed keypad or reader happen same-day once we confirm the model. You usually discover a failing access control component on a Thursday evening when the keypad beeps twice and the gate doesn’t move, or when the card reader flashes but won’t release the latch. The good news: this is one of the more straightforward Elite repairs we handle, and the part matching matters more than the labor.
Which Elite Models This Applies To
Elite access control components cross a few distinct product lines, and the compatibility gotcha is real: an Elite SL3000 keypad doesn’t talk to an Elite Miracle-One board the same way it talks to a CSW200UL board. We carry keypads, card readers, and antenna modules for the Elite SL-3000, SL-3000B, Miracle-One, and CSW200UL families. If you’re in Anthem or Green Valley Ranch and the label on your keypad has faded, we can identify it from the wire count and connection pattern: most Elite keypads use a 5-wire Wiegand output, but the older Miracle-One boards expect a 4-wire connection with a separate ground leg.
When it comes to parts, we install OEM Elite components when the system is still under warranty or when the board revision demands it. For out-of-warranty systems, we’ll offer a quality aftermarket equivalent only if it matches the voltage and Wiegand protocol exactly. In Henderson’s summer heat, cheap aftermarket keypads with thin membrane switches fail fast: the sun bakes the adhesive and the keys stop registering. We learned early to skip those. Cody Beckman spent two decades tracing Elite boards before founding this shop, and he’s opened enough of them to know that a gray-wire ground fault causes more no-response failures than the keypad itself.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Elite Access Control Installation Is Failing
- Keypad beeps but the gate doesn’t move. The Wiegand signal isn’t reaching the controller. It could be a broken conductor in the underground run from the pedestal to the board, or a dead relay on the control board itself.
- Card reader flashes but no release. The reader is reading the credential, but the data line or the controller input has failed. We test this with a known-good card before we condemn the reader: about half the time the reader is fine and the board is the problem.
- Keypad keys 2, 5, or 8 stop responding. That’s a classic membrane failure on one column of the keypad matrix. You can’t repair it; the membrane is heat-welded, and the Henderson sun has already done the damage.
- Entering the code triggers an open, then the gate closes 3 seconds later. The safety loop or photo-eye input is dropping out. It reads like an access control problem, but the access control unit is working. This is a common misdiagnosis.
- Keypad works fine from one side but not the other. Dual-gate systems in communities like Inspirada often have a shared access control line, and a failing splice box on the east side of the drive will drop the signal to the far keypad only. We fix a lot of these.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Here’s what we quote in Henderson, with the exact number in writing before we touch anything:
- Elite keypad replacement (SL-3000 or equivalent): $280 to $520 installed, including the part.
- Card reader replacement (Wiegand, Elite-compatible): $340 to $610 installed.
- Full access control retrofit with new pedestal, keypad, and controller wiring: $1,800 to $2,900, depending on how far the conduit run goes and whether we’re cutting concrete.
- Telephone entry system (Elite-style, multi-tenant): $2,400 to $4,200 installed and programmed.
The range exists because every gate is different. An Inspirada HOA gate with a 180-foot underground run to the board costs more than a single-driveway gate in Green Valley where the keypad is mounted six feet from the operator. Either way, the price is agreed before we start, the quote is written, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the work. If it isn’t right, we make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely do a few checks before you call: confirm the keypad has power (most Elite keypads have a small LED that should be dim but visible), verify the code hasn’t been accidentally changed, and look at the wire terminations at the keypad for obvious corrosion. What you should not do is open the controller box and start swapping wires: these boards carry low voltage but a short across the wrong terminals can take out the transformer or the board itself, and then a $320 keypad job becomes an $800 board replacement. There’s also no reason to grind out the concrete around the pedestal: if the underground wire is faulted, we can pull a new run through the existing conduit in most cases without tearing anything up.
If the keypad is clicking, the gate is half-open, and the kids are waiting to get to school, call us at (775) 210-7739. We answer live, 24/7, and we’ll tell you honestly what we think is wrong before we ever set a truck on the road.
FAQs
In Henderson’s climate, an Elite keypad membrane typically lasts 5 to 8 years before the UV and heat degrade the keys. Keypads mounted on south-facing pedestals without shade tend to fail on the shorter end of that range. Call (775) 210-7739 if your keypad is older than five years and starting to miss inputs.
No: the membrane switch layer can’t be repaired. Once the internal contacts degrade, the keypad needs replacement. For a little more, we can use a keypad with a thicker weather seal so the next one lasts longer in the Henderson sun. Estimates are free.
Most Elite keypad or card reader replacements take 45 minutes to 90 minutes on-site, depending on how the existing wiring looks. We carry the common Elite-compatible parts on the truck, so there usually isn’t a second trip.
Yes: we carry Elite keypads, card readers, and control board relays in our service vehicles, along with parts for LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls operators. That means most Henderson calls are handled in one visit.
When your access control fails, the gate doesn’t care that you have a schedule. Call (775) 210-7739, tell us what the keypad is doing (or not doing), and we’ll send a background-checked technician who’ll lay down drop cloths, put on shoe covers, and hand you a written price before anything is touched. Latch and Post Gate Repair Henderson is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Elite, but we’ve kept these systems running in Henderson for years, and every job leaves with a cleanup photo and the 365-Day Done Right Promise behind it. A gate that works quietly is one you stop thinking about and that’s exactly the goal.
