We stock and install Elite-compatible hinge and roller replacement parts for gates across Henderson, with most complete replacements running between $280 and $550 installed depending on gate weight, hinge count, and whether the post needs shimming. Our trucks carry common Elite hinge and roller sizes, so the job is usually done the same day we arrive. Most owners call us when the gate starts dragging over the driveway, leaning toward the latch side, or squealing like a dry bearing every time a kid pushes it open.
Elite gate hardware is built heavier than the hardware on most residential swing gates, but the desert takes a toll. Dust works into roller bearings, monsoon-season rain flash-rusts exposed hinge pins, and the heat bakes grease out of anything that moves. When a hinge or roller goes, the gate’s weight shifts onto the other hardware, and the wear accelerates fast.
Which Elite Models This Applies To
Elite gate operators and their matched gate hardware show up on a handful of common setups in Henderson: single swing gates across driveway approaches, double swing gates at HOA entries, and the heavier iron gates you see throughout neighborhoods like Inspirada, Anthem, and Green Valley Ranch. The hinge and roller replacement work we do covers the gate’s physical hardware, independent of which Elite operator runs the motor.
Elite uses several hinge configurations depending on the gate’s weight class. The two you’ll see most often are the barrel hinge with a pressed-in pin and the heavier bearing hinge with a greaseable zerk fitting. The bearing hinges are common on Elite SL and heavy-duty series gates; the barrel hinges show up on lighter residential models. If you’re not sure which one you have, look at the top cap of the hinge. A grease fitting means bearing-style. A flat cap means barrel. We measure the leaf width, pin diameter, and overall height before ordering anything, because two Elite hinges can look identical in a photo and differ by a quarter inch in pin diameter, which matters when the gate weighs 400 pounds.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: Elite’s OEM hinges and rollers are well made, but they’re not the only properly sized option. For most residential applications, a quality aftermarket hinge with sealed bearings and the same leaf dimensions holds up as well as OEM at roughly 60 to 70 percent of the cost. We stock both and we’ll tell you plainly which one makes sense for your gate, not which one makes us more margin.

Signs Your Elite Hinge & Roller Replacement Is Failing
- The gate drags or scrapes near the latch side. When the lower hinge or roller on the free-swinging end wears, the gate drops just enough to catch the driveway or the strike plate. That scraping sound is the gate literally holding itself up against the concrete.
- You have to lift the gate slightly to open or close it. This is the classic hinge-wear tell. The gate’s weight is no longer fully carried by the post, so you’re lifting part of it yourself. Happens a lot on older Elite installs where the bottom hinge pin has ovaled out its hole.
- The gate squeaks or groans even when the operator runs smoothly. If the motor sounds fine but the gate itself squeals, that’s metal on metal at the hinge or roller. Once the grease is gone and the bearing starts grinding, it’s already wearing too fast to save.
- Visible sag at the midpoint, but the posts still look plumb. A leaning post is a post problem. A gate that dips in the middle while the posts stand true means the hinges themselves are slopping, almost always on the lower side.
- Play when you push the gate side to side. Put a hand on the free edge and shove gently sideways. If the gate shifts or clunks, the hinge pins have clearance they shouldn’t have. A properly hung Elite gate moves on one plane only.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included
In Henderson, expect to pay between $280 and $550 installed for a full Elite hinge and roller replacement on a typical single swing gate. Double gates run $420 to $850 depending on how many hinges and rollers are dead and whether the operator’s mounting points need re-aligning after the new hardware goes on. A single hinge or roller replacement, when the rest of the hardware is still solid, usually lands between $140 and $220.
What drives the range: gate weight and material thickness, whether we’re replacing bearing hinges or barrel hinges, whether the old hinge bolts are seized and need to be cut or drilled out, and whether the post face needs shimming. Everything is priced in writing before we start. You see the part cost, the labor, and the total, and the number on that sheet is the number you pay. Parts and labor are covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the gate doesn’t swing right a year later due to our work, we make it right.

You can safely inspect a few things yourself: check for visible sag with the gate closed, watch for side-to-side play, and look at each hinge to see if a pin is backing out or a leaf is pulling away from the post. If you find something, stop there.
The problem with replacing Elite hinges and rollers yourself is mostly weight. A heavy swing gate stores a lot of energy in its mass, even when it’s static. Lift it off its hinges the wrong way and it can shift, pinch a hand, or fall against a child or pet. The bolts are often seized after years of desert heat cycling, and cutting them out at an angle while supporting a 300 or 400 pound gate is not a Saturday project. It’s a job for someone with the right jacks, stands, and experience. We also have the hinge and roller sizes you need on the truck, which beats ordering off a blurry photo and hoping. If you’re in Henderson and the gate’s dragging, call us at (775) 210-7739. We’ll tell you whether it’s worth a call-out or whether you can nurse it along a few more weeks.
FAQs
In Henderson’s climate, most Elite hinges and rollers last 6 to 10 years before the heat, dust, and occasional storm flash-rust push them past their useful life. Gates that face south or west and absorb afternoon sun tend to wear faster.
Usually not. Once a bearing is grinding or a pin has ovaled out its bore, the metal itself has changed shape and no amount of grease or tightening brings it back. In some cases we can press in a new bushing on a barrel hinge, but for most worn Elite hinges and rollers replacement is the honest fix. Call (775) 210-7739 and we’ll tell you which path yours is on.
Most single-gate Elite hinge and roller replacements take 1.5 to 2.5 hours on site. Double gates run 3 to 4 hours. We bring drop cloths and shoe covers so no metal shavings or grease end up on your floors, and we text you a photo of the clean-up before we head out.
Yes. Our trucks carry the most common Elite hinge sizes, roller diameters, and mounting hardware for the gate weight classes we see most in Henderson. If your gate needs a size we don’t have on board, we order it and return as soon as it lands, usually within two to three days. Every visit starts with a written price before any work begins.
