Elite Welding & Fabrication: The Henderson Owner’s Guide

If your Elite gate has a cracked weld, a snapped hinge, or a section of iron that’s rusted through, we stock and install Elite-compatible welding and fabrication parts right here in Henderson. Most weld repairs and fabrication replacements on Elite gates run between $220 and $640 installed, and we can usually have a technician to your home the same day you call. The way most Henderson owners find the problem is simple: the gate starts to sag toward the latch side, or you notice a hairline crack at a weld joint that wasn’t there last spring.

We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Elite, which means we tell you the truth about whether a part is worth repairing or replacing. Cody Beckman, our owner, spent two decades working exclusively on gate systems, and he’s seen how Henderson’s summer heat and occasional hard winds treat welded steel. The good news: most Elite fabrication failures are repairable, and we bring the welding equipment with us.

Which Elite Models This Applies To

Elite welded gate frames and fabricated panels don’t use a single universal part number the way an opener circuit board does. The relevant information is in the gate itself: the tubing wall thickness (usually .065″ or .095″ on residential Elite swing gates), the hinge barrel diameter, and whether the frame is galvanized before powder coating. Elite’s residential swing gates in Henderson are typically built from 2″ square tubing, while their heavier ranch-style gates use 2.5″ or 3″ posts. If you can find a small metal tag welded near the bottom hinge, that’ll tell us the fabrication batch and the original coating spec.

Compatibility gotcha worth knowing: Elite’s earlier residential gates (roughly pre-2014) used mild steel that was powder coated but not hot-dip galvanized. In Henderson’s alkaline desert soil, those frames rust from the bottom rail upward, even when the visible surface looks fine. Later Elite gates are hot-dip galvanized before coating, and those hold up dramatically better. When you call, we’ll ask you to check the bottom rail and tell us what you feel: flaky rust means the older process, smooth gray metal means the newer one. That single detail tells us whether to patch or replace.

On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Elite specifically: for welded hinges and gate frame sections, we fabricate replacements in-house to match the original dimensions because Elite factory weldments are often backordered for weeks. For latch hardware and roller assemblies, we carry both OEM Elite parts and quality aftermarket equivalents, and we’ll give you the price difference before you decide.

Signs Your Elite Welding & Fabrication Is Failing

  • The gate drags on the ground near the latch post. This means the top hinge weld or the hinge pin itself is wearing loose, letting the entire leaf settle. In Henderson, the dry heat accelerates this by hardening and cracking weld joints faster than coastal climates do.
  • Hairline cracks at hinge weld points. You’ll see fine lines radiating from where the hinge plate meets the gate tube. This is fatigue cracking, and it only gets worse once it starts. A cracked top hinge on a heavy Elite gate can eventually tear the tube wall open.
  • Rust bubbling under the powder coat on the lower rail. That’s trapped moisture working its way out from inside the tube. Older non-galvanized Elite frames do this in Henderson within eight to twelve years, even with regular care.
  • The gate hums or vibrates when the opener cycles. If the frame has a broken internal weld, the operator’s force transmits through a loose joint, and the whole gate rattles. It’s not an opener problem; it’s a structure problem.
  • A bent or twisted vertical picket. This usually means something hit the gate, or a child climbed on it. The bend is usually repairable if we catch it before the surrounding welds crack from the leveraged weight.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For most Elite gates in Henderson, weld repair runs $220 to $420, and a full fabricated section replacement runs $390 to $640 installed. The range depends on three things: how much weld surface has failed, whether we’re working on the gate in place or pulling the leaf off to lay it flat, and whether the existing frame is galvanized enough to take a clean weld. We’ll write you an exact number before any work starts, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

Every Elite welding or fabrication job includes the full Cedarwell Care Promise: shoe covers and drop cloths if we’re inside your garage or mudroom, a photo of the cleaned work area before we leave, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise on all work. If a weld we made fails within a year, we come back and make it right, no argument and no additional charge. That’s the guarantee we’ve run on since 2009.

DIY or Call Us?

Welding a gate frame is not a beginner-friendly fix. The gate is under constant load, and a bad weld at a hinge point can let several hundred pounds of metal drop suddenly, which injures the person standing next to it. Please don’t attempt structural welding on a gate yourself unless you have real fabrication experience and proper eye protection. What you can safely do is mark the crack locations with a grease pencil and take photos from two angles. That gives us everything we need to quote the job accurately over the phone.

If you do want to handle a small cosmetic touch-up, keep it to surface rust removal and paint, never load-bearing members. And if the crack is anywhere near a hinge pin or operator bracket, leave it alone and call us at (775) 210-7739. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it sounds like a simple patch or a full section rebuild, and we’ll give you a straight price range before we even schedule the visit.
