We stock and install LiftMaster-compatible hinge and roller replacement parts across Henderson, with most replacements running between $145 and $320 installed depending on how many hinges or rollers your gate needs. We keep the common LiftMaster hinge sizes and roller diameters on the truck, so most Henderson jobs are done in a single visit. You’ll usually discover this part failed when the gate starts dragging on the ground, squealing when it swings, or hanging visibly crooked from the post.
LiftMaster gates in Henderson take a beating from the desert heat and fine dust that works into every pivot point. The hinge is what holds the gate leaf to the post and lets it swing smoothly, and the roller carries the weight at the far end once the gate is more than a few feet wide. When either one wears out, the whole gate geometry shifts, and that’s when you start hearing the grind.
Which LiftMaster Models This Applies To
LiftMaster’s residential swing gate kits (the LA400, LA412, LA500, and the newer dual-swing RSL12 series) all use a similar hardware setup: two or three heavy-duty hinges on the post side and either a roller or a drop leg on the free end. The hinge barrel diameter matters more than the model number, because LiftMaster has shipped different hinge styles over the years. Older Henderson gates from the 2014 – 2018 era often have 1-inch barrel hinges, while current production runs use a 1-1/4-inch barrel on anything over 12 feet wide.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha most Henderson owners hit: the LiftMaster-branded hinge is just a re-labeled industrial barrel hinge, and the bolt pattern changed in 2019. If you order a hinge by “LiftMaster gate hinge” without measuring, you can end up with the right brand and the wrong hole spacing. We measure the barrel diameter, the bolt spread, and the leaf thickness before we quote. On the roller side, LiftMaster specifies a 4-inch or 6-inch diameter depending on gate weight and swing radius, and the bearing type (sealed ball bearing vs bushing) is the difference between a roller that lasts five years here and one that gets noisy inside of two.
For OEM versus aftermarket: LiftMaster-branded hinges and rollers are fine, but they’re not better than the industrial equivalents we carry from the same contract manufacturers. We’re an independent Henderson gate shop, not affiliated with LiftMaster, and we’ll tell you straight if the OEM part or a quality aftermarket equivalent makes more sense for your model. On most standard swing gates, the aftermarket sealed-bearing roller actually outlasts the factory part in Nevada dust.

Signs Your LiftMaster Hinge & Roller Replacement Is Failing
- The gate drags or scrapes near the latch post. When the roller wears flat or the bearing seizes, the free end of the gate drops a half-inch or more and starts carving into the concrete or gravel. The fix is usually a new roller plus a hinge adjustment, and catching it now saves the gate frame from grinding wear.
- You hear a squeal or high-pitched chirp while the gate moves. Henderson dust kills bearings slowly, and a dry or worn sealed bearing makes a rhythmic chirp as the roller turns. If it’s been doing this for more than a couple of weeks, the bearing has likely already started spalling internally, and lubrication will only quiet it briefly.
- The gate has visible sag at the far end. A half-inch of sag is normal for a 16-foot gate. Two inches is not. Sag usually means the hinge pins have elongated from constant Nevada wind load, and the gate is now pivoting on an egg-shaped hole.
- The gate shifts or thunks when a kid or pet bumps it. Hinge play that was invisible a year ago becomes obvious once the barrel and pin wear past their tolerance. You’ll feel a soft “thunk” as the gate rocks forward and back instead of swinging on a true plane.
- Increasing strain noise from the operator motor. When the hinge or roller starts binding, the LiftMaster operator has to push harder through the full travel. You’ll hear the motor strain more than it did when the gate was new, and that added load shortens the life of the operator’s own internal gears.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Henderson, a single LiftMaster hinge replacement typically runs $145 to $210 installed, and a gate roller replacement runs $160 to $280. If the gate needs both hinges replaced (common when the post-side hinge has been carrying extra load for months), the job usually lands between $250 and $380. The spread comes down to hinge size, whether we’re also correcting the gate height, and whether the roller bracket needs to be re-welded or just re-bolted.
What you’ll see on the written price, before any work starts, includes the part itself, labor, metal shims if we’re re-leveling, and a coat of aluminum-safe anti-seize on the hinge pins so they come apart cleanly next time. The price is the price, quoted and agreed before we touch anything. Every parts replacement is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the hinge or roller we installed fails or acts up within a year, we come back and make it right, no argument and no invoice.
DIY or Call Us?
What you can safely do yourself: watch and listen. Note where the gate scrapes, whether the noise is constant or rhythmic, and whether the sag is at the hinge end or the free end. That gives you (and us) a clear picture before anyone turns a wrench.
What we don’t recommend doing yourself: unbolting a loaded gate hinge. The moment you pull those hinge bolts on a 200 to 600 pound gate, the weight has to go somewhere, and a gate that weighs more than you do can turn into a pinching or crushing hazard in a fraction of a second. Any time the gate leaf is off its hinges, there’s also the chance of bending the post or pulling it out of plumb, and that turns a $180 hinge job into a $1,200 post reset. For the roller, the danger is lower but the nuisance is real: without the right jack stands and clamping rig, you’ll spend an afternoon fighting the gate and likely still end up with a crooked swing arc.

FAQs
In Henderson’s climate, most original LiftMaster hinges and rollers last 5 to 8 years before they need attention, with rollers typically failing first because fine dust works past the seals and eats the bearing races. Gates that face west into the prevailing wind or sit near a wash tend to wear a little faster. If you’re still on the original hardware past year eight, you’re ahead of the curve, but keeping an eye on the far-end sag will tell you when replacement is due.
Sometimes, if the wear is just a worn pin or an egged-out bushing, we can press in a new oil-impregnated bushing and oversized pin and save the hinge body, which usually runs $90 to $120 instead of full replacement. But if the bolt holes have wallowed out or the barrel itself is deformed, we’ll tell you straight that a new hinge is the more honest fix. Call (775) 210-7739 and we’ll tell you which one yours needs after we look at it.
Most LiftMaster hinge and roller replacement jobs in Henderson take 45 to 90 minutes from start to finish, assuming the post is still solid and the gate doesn’t need drastic re-leveling. We bring the jack stands, shims, and the right hardware for your model, so there’s no second trip for a forgotten part. You can expect a written price before we start and a cleanup photo before we leave.
Yes, we keep common 1-inch and 1-1/4-inch barrel hinges, 4-inch and 6-inch rollers with sealed bearings, and the matching bolt kits on the truck for Henderson-area calls. We also stock common parts for Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing. If your gate needs an uncommon size or a custom roller bracket, we’ll order it and have it in within a few days, not weeks.
